Abstract

The cerebellar nodulus is responsible for central positional nystagmus. Positional nystagmus of the cerebellar nodular lesion has been observed in lying down from sitting, supine head rolling test, Dix-Hallpike position, and straight head hanging from sitting. The effects of lateral decubitus position in a nodular lesion remain unknown. A 75-year-old woman with unilateral nodular infarction showed central paroxysmal positional vertigo and nystagmus dominantly during a decubitus position to the lesion side. The types of central positional nystagmus are various, and the effects of the lateral decubitus position in central vestibular lesions require a further exploration.
